Throughout the years we have discovered that there are a lot of driving instructors who are Deaf aware but this doesn't mean that they can communicate effectively with a Deaf person. Too much time gets spent writing things down and drawing diagrams which results in the learner having to take up to twice as many lessons. We also found that Deaf learners were not always taught properly as communication between instructor and pupil was difficult therefore resulting in lower pass rates. This is why we started BSL Driving School.

BSL Driving School was set up to cater for the driving needs of Deaf people in the UK.

We are the first UK driving school that specialises in teaching Deaf people to drive.

All our driving instructors are fully trained in teaching Deaf people to drive, which means they will explain topics in detail making sure the learner understands what they are doing and are also able to communicate effectively with their learners ensuring that efficient learning and understanding takes place as all our Instructors understand and use British Sign Language.
